Hi I have a strange issue. My Win 7, Visual Studio 2005 PC was connecting to the Vault server fine until recently when it started issuing a "Unable to connect to http://<serverIP>/VaultService. No server was found at the specified URL. ... HTTP status 503: Service Unavailable.
Strangely, my Vault client connects fine. Not sure if I modified client settings in any way or what could be the
problem.
I searched the forums for similar issues, but I coudn't find any.
Please help!
Visual Studio 2005 cannot connect to Vault 5.04

The first thing I would suggest is to unbind and rebind the project. Depending on what integration client you're using this would be in VS 2005 under File->Source Control->Change Source Control (Classic Client) or File->Vault Source Control->Change Vault Bindings ((Enhanced Client).

Re: Visual Studio 2005 cannot connect to Vault 5.04
Tried that.
When I try with the Classic client, the bind button doesn't do anything. When I use the enhanced Client, I choose "Open from Vault..." got the same message (503: Service Unavailable). When I choose, change bindings, click Bind... 503: Service Unavailable.
The weird thing is that I try from another machine connected to the same network, I get the same issue. I thought it could be something with the server, but I logged into the Server's VM and I was able to call the service
http://<server ip>/VaultService and it works fine.
I'm puzzled about what could be the problem.
If you think of something I can do about this, please let me know.
Thanks!

Re: Visual Studio 2005 cannot connect to Vault 5.04
Reproduce the problem, then send me copies of the Visual Studio and Vault Server logs. Let me know what user was experiencing the error and what time the error occurred so I know where to look for in the logs.
If you are using the Visual Studio Enhanced Client with VS 2005/2008, you can enable logging in VS under Tools->Options->Source Control->Integration Options. The log will be in your user's temp directory.
The Vault Server log called sgvault.log and is in %windir%\temp\sgvault on the server machine.
Send the logs zipped up to support at sourcegear.com, Attn: Linda. Please include a link to this forum post.

Got the logs and responded via email. It looks like the server is refusing the connection.
