Sorry, I was planning to look at this for Vault 6. Unfortunately, I wasn't planning on implementation into the 5.x tree.

I would be happy if it was in Vault 6. Will this make the initial release?

At this time, yes. I'm hopeful it is in the Beta by summer.

Well I hope that if its limited by date, that it remembers the last choice used and makes it easy and quick to list recent changes.

So, it's been about a year since this issue was last commented on and Vault 6 (beta at least) was expected summer of 2011.

Is there any update as to when Vault 6 will be available with this and hopefully other great new features?

We released a preview recently that you can see: http://www.sourcegear.com/preview/index.html.

I don't have the date of the final release yet.

Note, while Vault 6 will contain this feature, the Vault 6 Preview does not have the Merge Branches features. For those interested, send me an email, and I can provide you with more details of how this will be addressed in the actual release.

The feature has been coded and is now in the hands of QA. For those interested, there will be an updated preview with the new functionality to Merge Branches along with "Merge Markers."

More info will be available after QA has had some time to test the new functionality around Merge Branches.

We have released an updated Vault 6 Preview. Within that release are some of the changes talked about in this thread addressing some of the performance problems within Merge Branches.
