Profiles and Working Folders Disappeared

Sometime during the day today, all of my Profiles (for quick connection to a repository) and my Working Folders assignments within repositories disappeared. I have beene exploring Red-Gate's new SQL Source Control tool and its integration with Fortress. This is an Early Access version of their tool. Could it have wiped out these Fortress configuration settings?

We've been contacted by Red-Gate, and they're looking into it.

OK, great! I had contacted them as well, but thought I would check with you to see if that even fell within the realm of possibility, or whether I needed to look for other problems. It sounds like it is possible, and that's just the risk I was taking by running pre-release software, which I understand.

I'd like try to reproduce this, to see if it's a problem with SQL Source Control integration.

Could you give me more information about the problem, and perhaps steps to reproduce?

Where you using a profile that was created in the Fortress Client?

Were you working folders gone in the Fortress Client?

Did you still have a Fortress Client-side cache folder? Depending on your OS, find the path

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Sourcegear\Fortress_1
or
C:\Documents and Settings\<userprofile>\Local Settings\Application Data\SourceGear\Fortress_1

I tried to reproduce this using Vault Pro 5.1.1. I created working folders, profiles, etc.

I installed SQL Source Control, linked a database, committed files.

I still have my profiles and working folders.

Hi Linda,

Yes, it was a Profile that I had created in the client UI (using Fortress 2.0.x) and that is where the working folders had disappeared.

However, I have been working with Red-Gate and they have fixed that issue in a newer pre-release candidate which I am working with now, so this does appear to have been all a "BETA" problem.

Thanks for the update. We've heard from Red-Gate as well, that the problem has been resolved.
