VS2010 and Fortress 1.1.4

Post by bmacadam » Tue Nov 02, 2010 3:07 pm

I'm running both VS2008 and VS2010 with Fortress 1.1.4 on a brand new Win7 laptop. When I view the options page in VS2010 for source control, my plugin choices are SourceGear Fortress Classic Client and Visual Studio Team Foundation Server. In VS2008 I use SourceGear Fortress Visual Studio Enhanced Client, which is not a selection in 2010.

When I attempt to open a project in VS2010, I receive the following error message:

The project is under source control. An error occurred registering this project with source control. It is recommended that you do not make any changes to this project.

In the output window the following appears:

TestData.csproj : error : Unexpected error encountered. It is recommended that you restart the application as soon as possible.

Error: The parameter is incorrect.
File: vsee\lib\xfcstr\winstrw.cpp
Line number: 166

I'm concerned that there may be a conflict between Fortress 1.1.4 and VS2010. Please let me know what I can do to resolve this.

Thanks,

Bill

Visual Studio 2010 Enhanced Client support was implemented in Fortress 2.0. Fortress 1.1.x does not support integration with VS 2010. The Fortress 1.1.x installer does not create the 20+ registry entries needed for VS 2010 integration.

You could upgrade, or unbind the project and bind to the Classic Client.
