Hi everyone,
We are using SOS 4.02 and in the last 10 days this has happened twice.
At some point, the source safe server hangs and is unable to service any clients. I don't know what causes this but I suspect the problem is due to one of the clients forcibly closing connections?
I usually have to go to the SOS server and restart the service. This server is using encryption.
Following is the log from the latest crash on the server:

8/12/2004 1:18:30 AM - 3: Exception: Index was outside the bounds of the array.
8/12/2004 1:18:33 AM - Connection accepted from xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:1537 on local address xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:8081, session id is 4.

This is really frustrating to us because we have teams from around the world using it and work pretty much stops when this crash happens.
Any help or pointers will be highly appreciated.

What version of VSS are you using? Specifically I'd like to know the version of the VSS ssapi.dll file.

Most SOS Server hangs are caused because concurrent connections expose a bug in the SourceSafe automaton component. The fix depends on which version of VSS you are using (see my post above).
If you're using 6.0c or earlier, try this:
