Vault 5.0.2.18753
We have a strict access rights policy for our Source Control and it has presented a feature request!
Currently a user can only create a ShelveSet from files already checked out, other than adding new files that is, which requires them to have Read/Write access. It would be a very nice feature if users could create a ShelveSet from Folders or Files in Vault if they only have Read Access. They would never be able to commit the ShelveSet but they could at least work with the files.
I know currently the Create ShelveSet is based on the Pending Change List but if a user could Right click a Folder or Set of Files and have the option to Create a ShelveSet that would be great.
Hope this can make it in real soon!
Thanks,
J

Re: Feature Request - Shelving and User access rights
We found a work around for this. If the user sets themselves to work like CVS style then it will then show files edited within the Pending Change Set allowing them to create a Shelve Set. Just wanted to let you know.

Re: Feature Request - Shelving and User access rights
Hello again, someone just asked me about this again and when I came back to this I realized I didn't say that getting the ability to create shelvesets without write privileges without CVS mode is still really important to us so hopefully that wish list item is still there!
Thanks,
J
