Hi,
Just wanted to share my experience. Hope it can be of help to other SOS users as well. Unusually High pages/sec on a Windows Server causes SOS to run slow and experience network timeouts.
We had a similar problem and started performance monitoring of Memory, CPU, Page File, Physical Drive counters using the perfmon utility in Windows 2000. Microsoft recommends that the pages/sec value should not be higher than 20. However in our case it was averaging 250. After intensive monitoring Indexing Service and the File Replication service were found to be causing the high number of pages/sec. After disabling these two services a getproject command that used to take 30-35 mins to execute now takes 15-20 mins to complete.
Just a feedback hope this helps.
