Problem with moving folders between repositories

We have been using Vault since 2004. Now we are trying to move some folder from one repository to another using Export/Import tool but it is failing with the following error:
An error occured while importing a transaction for (TxID:8227 on 2/12/2004 5:53 PM by brendan [12]). The import cannot continue.

The strange thing is when we use Export at the begining it shows 406 transactions to export but after some time it changes to 374 and then it says that the file was saved succesfully. When we try to import it fails when processing 14th transaction.

We do not even need so old history and we would be happy to cut it off (if it is possible) to proceed with the move.

Our Vault is 5.0.3 and thie error happens with different folders where we have very old history.

Could you please advise how to fix this problem.

Run a history query on $, and in the Actions tab uncheck all actions except for obliterate. Are there any obliterates listed? If so, those could be what is getting in the way.

I do not have any obliterations in the Source Repository. I have some in Destination Repository but they are in different folder. And import is failing does not matter which folder I use as the destination.
Import is failing even if I try to import it to different folder in Source repository so I think the export file is broken.

What happens if you create a blank test repository and import into that?

If I create blank repository then import runs successfuly. Then I tried to export this newly imported folder from this test repository and then import into Destination one and it failed with the same error.

This will take some looking at the logs. Can you look in you Export/Import log, typically found at C:\Program Files\SourceGear\Vault Client\VaultExportImport.txt, and in your Vault server log at %windir%\temp\sgvault\sgvault.log to see if any errors are recorded at the time the Export/Import fails? Can you post either the entire logs, or the errors, or send an email to support at sourcegear.com (attn: Beth) with a link to this forum thread and the logs in it?
