Files auto marked as renegade

I have a problem, and could not find any similar issues. I have a solution containing multiple projects and when I open a file and edit it in Visual Studio 2008 it is marked as renegade. I have it set to auto check out, but it is not. This happens in all of my projects not just the one in question here.

Are you using the Classic or the Enhanced Client? That setting is found in VS Tools - Options - Source Control.

Can you look in your Fortress Tools - Options - Concurrent Development Style and let me know what your settings are there?

I am using enhances client. It is set to "Automatically Check Out" under the Tools -> Options -> Source Control -> Integration Options -> When check out is required, on edit. Under Tools -> Options -> Source Control -> Fortress Options -> Advanced Options -> Concurrent Development Style is set to VSS Style.

I have attached a screenshot of what items need to be set under the Concurrent Development Style. Are all those set the same way in your Fortress GUI client?

Fortress running on Windows Server 2003
VS running on Win 7

What happens if you manually check out a file and then edit it? Do you get a renegade status?

After you check out manually, have someone else refresh their Fortress client. Can they see that you have it checked out?
