Hi,
I just upgraded my machine to Win7 from XP. After re-installing VS 2005 and SOS 3.5.3 I am no longer able to login to souce control from within Visual Studio. I always get the error of 'Unable to decrypt user key'. I am able to log into the standalone SOS client without any issues.
Where would the integrated SOS be expecting to find the user key file?
Thanks

Re: SOS 3.5.3/VS 2005/Win 7
We haven't tested SOS 3.5.3 on WIndows 7, so it's not officially supported. We'll try to help, but if this is caused by Windows 7, you would need to upgrade to SourceOffSite 5.
The integrated client should be looking in the same place as the SOS GUI Client. After you import the .iky file in the SOS Client, it creates a <servername>.key file in the SOS Client directory.
Can you connect to the unsecure port with Visual Studio?
Have you tried recreating and re-importing the user .iky file?

Re: SOS 3.5.3/VS 2005/Win 7
I have tried re-importing my iky file and that did not help. One thing that I have noticed is that when I import my iky file a <servername>.key file is not getting created in the SOS directory.
Re: SOS 3.5.3/VS 2005/Win 7
I've tried using SOS 3.5.3 on Win 7, and the cache files and server key files are in some hidden directory that I can't even find. However encryption works fine with the SOS Client. We have had instances on supported operating systems where encryption worked for the SOS Client but not for Visual Studio, so it's hard to say what's causing the problem.
I may be able to do a little more investigation, but since SOS 3.5.3 is not supported on Windows 7, I'm not sure how much we can help. We'd recommend upgrading to SOS 5.0 which is fully supported on Windows 7.
