speeding up vault command line client

Post by tcarreon » Fri Jul 23, 2004 1:52 pm

are there any tricks or tips to speed up and reduce the amount of overheard for the command line client? there are times when we have multiple clients started and they seem to kind of bog down the machine (memory's cheap i know) but i was wondering.

basically we're always doing a get latest and do not care if there were changes. it can send me the whole file if that's faster and overwrite what's on the disk. also don't need to keep a cache or what not.

how can i make it as fast and lightweight as possible? compared to the GUi client it's half the size, but still...

I don't think there's much you can do w/ the CLC as is. You could explore using the CLC in batch mode, or downloading / modifying the CLC source code to create something which better fits your needs.

One other suggestion - Could this possibly be a place for shadow folders?
