How to get enhanced client?

Post by ddill » Fri Aug 21, 2009 4:38 pm

I am running Fortress Client version 1.1.4(18402). I want to use CVS mode in VS 2005/2008. My only choice in Tools-->Options-->Source Control-->Plug-in Selection is "SourceGear Fortress Classic Client". How do I get/install the enhanced client?
TIA
Daniel

We've had a few reports of this. Generally the fix is to do a repair install of Visual Studio. I would suggest uninstalling your Fortress client, repairing Visual Studio, rebooting your machine, then reinstalling Fortress client.

Uninstall, repair, reboot, reinstall.

I see the advanced client option in VS 2005, but not in VS 2008.

What operating system is the client on?

Is it 32- or 64-bit?

Did you run a repair install on VS 2008 as well as VS 2005? Each has it's own set of registry keys that we update for the Enhanced Client integration.

If you did run a repair install of VS 2008 and then reinstalled Fortress Client, do these registry keys exist? (These are just two of several registry keys that Fortress Client should install.)
