Add Item in Item tracking

Post by davidcstuart » Fri Jul 31, 2009 9:58 am

I have set up a project, and want to be able to add items with the "Resolver" set as a non-admin developer. Right now, only the admin users in the system show up in the list. I have gone to the administration page for the item tracking project - selected "Project Access", and added the group that I want to show up, but that didn't help.

Any suggestions?

Edit-
Another piece of info. When I try to add an item in the Visual Studio client, all the developers in the group show up in the Assignee and Resolver fields, but they don't show up in the Web Client.

What version of Fortress are you using?

If I understand this correctly, you have Item Tracking Project A, and userA and userB who are members of GroupA. GroupA has access to the project but userA and userB still don't show up in the dropdown for resolver?

All clients and server are at version 1.1.4.

Your description is correct, but the problem is only in the web client - the desktop client seems to work fine. Also they don't show up in the assignee dropdown.

I wasn't able to reproduce this.

Have you tried restarting IIS? This will restart Fortress and clear the server cache. That may help.

If this does not resolve the problem, Contact support at sourcegear.com, Attn: Linda. Please include a link to this forum post. We'll set up a remote assist session so I can take a closer look.

Restarting IIS fixed the problem. Should I expect to have to restart IIS everytime I have to add people to a project?

Not necessarily, but if something seems inconsistent, then restarting clears out-of-date cached information on the server.
