AD User Names with Aphostraphies

Post by jkonline » Mon Jul 27, 2009 9:23 am

AD supports User Names with Aphostraphies however value does not. Is it possible for this user still to login using AD?

In addition when I change the user name it asks me to change the password? But I am not use which password I am changing as I was using AD and had not entered any passwords.

Thanks

(Using Vault 4.1.4)

No, the username will have to follow Vault rules. When using Active Directory authentication for Vault, you still need to create usernames in Vault, but the passwords are managed through AD.

When you are asked to change the password, you can just type a space in the password and password confirmation field. Or you could type a real password, so that if there is a problem with your Active Directory, you can switch back to Vault authentication.
