Hi,
I was able to install the Vault 2.0.2 client some time ago. I upgraded my server installation to 2.0.3 and attempted to install the 2.0.3 client, but am now receiving an error that the .NET Framework is not installed [1.1.4322]. I certainly do have the framework installed as VS.NET 2003, ASP.NET and other .NET applications function correctly.
Does anyone know what may be causing this error?
Thanks!
Ben
Vault 2.0.3 fails to install on Windows XP computer

That is really wierd...
Just a clarification, the Server was sucessfully installed and now you are trying to install the Client using the Client installer on a different machine than the server or the same machine?
Are you installing the 2.03 client as an upgrade or a fresh install? Are you running the client installer from the same drive that you are installing to? Do you have Admin rights to the machine you are installing on? Are you choosing to install for "anyone who uses the computer" or "only you".
Do you happen to have two versions of ASP.NET on your machine? If so, you my try running the following before installing the client:
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_regiis.exe
This will ensure the correct version asp.net is registered.

The server was installed successfully on a separate machine, the client was installed successfully on a separate machine [i.e. I have my laptop and desktop]. The desktop functions fine, the laptop won't install the client at all. I've tried re-installing the 2.0.2 client and that now throws the same error. I had tried installing 2.0.3 as an overlay of the existing client and after uninstalling the previous client, both threw the same error.
In answer to your other questions:
Are you installing the 2.03 client as an upgrade or a fresh install? Both
Are you running the client installer from the same drive that you are installing to? I've tried both from a network drive and the local drive
Do you have Admin rights to the machine you are installing on? Yes
Are you choosing to install for "anyone who uses the computer" or "only you"? I don't get any such question
Do you happen to have two versions of ASP.NET on your machine? No, .NET 1.1 is the only framework installed
Thanks!

I am not sure why the client installer can't find the .NET framework on your machine.
It could be that something with your .net installation isn't quite right.
Try re-installing the .net framework (run dotnetfx.exe). If you do not currently have dotnetfx.exe, it can be downloaded from the following URL:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

If you are installing fresh from the client installer (not using the server installer to install the client) you should be promted for this from the dialog right after the readme dialog. Are you choosing to install for "anyone who uses the computer" or "only you"? I don't get any such question
Just to remove that variable, I would suggest using the client installer from a local drive when installing. Are you running the client installer from the same drive that you are installing to? I've tried both from a network drive and the local drive

OK,
I had already tried re-installing dotnetfx, but I am in the process of trying again. As a side note, I've also tried running the installer for the server bits and it gives me an error relating to IIS 5.0 or greater not being installed, which is certainly not the case. In both cases, I don't get any standard dialogs from the installer, just the error message and a dialog stating that a fatal error has occurred and the installer exits. The admin tool installation experiences the same problem as the client installer.
I'm also going to try running the install specifically as Administrator to see if that makes any difference.
Thanks!

A shot in the dark because you mentioned a program complaining that there wasn't a recent-enough version of IE installed, and I had that error too:
