Next release of Vault?

I am deciding on whether or not to plan a Vault upgrade going from 3.5 to 4.1 or the next version which I hear is a 5.x release? What would you recommend doing? Do an incremental or wait until 5.x is released. What is that timetable if you have that information. A feature list in 5.x would be nice to know now as it may help in my decision as to waiting or scheduling an upgrade. I am looking at the end of May to do something here. Any information you have would be appreciated at this point.

Our Vault blog should be showing the details in 3 - 4 weeks, I think. There should be a beta of 5.0 not long after that. I wouldn't recommend putting the beta on your production machine, but you could test it out on another machine to see what you think.

If you buy maintenance, then the 5.0 release would be covered by that. You can get an estimate from our sales department by emailing sgstore at sourcegear.com.

The benefits to upgrading to Vault 4.1.4 first would be:
1) Less learning curve once you upgrade to 5.0. Your users would have a chance to learn the 4.1.4 features before taking on the new ones in 5.0.

2) You would have the benefits that come with 4.1.4 earlier.

3) You would have some practice upgrading before the 5.0 release. A little more time spent now can save some time later on. Right now the weather is still yucky, so it would be the perfect time to do a little more, so that when the weather is nice and Vault 5.0 is released, you can just quickly upgrade and be off to enjoy the nice weater in a matter of minutes.
