Diff fails

calling Diff... from the version details of the merge process has no effect until all the process is done and then appears the dialog asking against what should the diff be done...

Can you post a screenshot of where you are performing the Show Differences? I am not sure exactly what you mean by "the version details of the merge process."

The Diff dialog is always going to pop up and not assume which items you want to diff against. Are you wanting it to automatically diff the source and target, or what exactly are you looking for it to do?
