I am having problems with version 3.1.0.3494.
When I select get latest version, it will download and create the directory tree on my local working dir but will hang up when trying to download the files to the created directories.
I set up a virtual machine and installed the client to do a test and it worked correctly.
I am using WinXP Pro with all patches and updates for .net 1.1 and XP.
Here's the client message I get:
An error occurred reading from the download stream ("The operation has timed-out."), retrying...
Any suggestions?
Client hangs when getting latest version.

Is this a new problem?
Can you do a get on a single file?
Generally this type of error indicates a network issue. Anti-virus software running on the client machine can also interfere with downloads.
The first thing to do is check the sgvault.log file in %windir%\temp\sgvault on the server machine to see if the server is restarting or if there are any useful error messages.

Single file worked but it took about 5 min for a 256k file.
In the past I have been able to get a few files before it fails. After an extended period of time it stops trying to get the files due to to many failures so the client's not actually locking up...
No errors on the vault server log/not restarting.
Disabled antivirus too.

Re: Client hangs when getting latest version.
I am using Vault 4.1.4 and still experiencing this problem while doing "get latest version" from within the Vault Client and at several points we got this error "An error occurred reading from the download stream ("The operation has timed out."), retrying"
After about 10 minutes of timeouts and retrying, it finally finished but noted that not all docs made it.
Do we have a solution to solve this problem? or any workaround?

Re: Client hangs when getting latest version.
Please enable client-side logging (http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=1534) and enable debug logging for Vault Server in the Vault Admin Web Client->Server Settings->logging, then reproduce the problem.
The Vault server log is sgvault.log and is in %windir%\temp\sgvault on the server machine. Send the logs zipped up to support at sourcegear.com, Attn: Linda. Please include a link to this forum post.
