Automatic new file/folder detection in Vault Client

Post by cerberus » Fri Jan 23, 2009 11:47 am

Is there are way to make the Vault Client detect new folders and files added outside the client without using the 'Detect New files Dialog'?

In other source control systems I've used, when a folder or file was added via, say, Windows Explorer it automatically appears in the GUI flagged as a new file/folder. This feature makes the product far easier to use for occasional users.

Vault versions 3.5 and later have a feature called "ghosting" which shows files and folders that are in the working directory but not yet under source control. These files and folders appear grayed out or "ghosted." This feature can be enabled under Tools->Options->General->Show non-version controlled files (folders) ghosted in file list (or folder tree).
