Re: SourceGear DiffMerge 3.2 Now Available
Today I installed diffmerge 3.2, the result was that my windows explorer crashes each time I click at the right mouse button (Context Menu)
I'm running at windows XP professional, SP3, all updates installed.
Hope to hear from you soon.

I'm not sure what would be causing Explorer to crash. In the mean time and
until we figure it out, you can turn off Explorer integration using the DiffMerge
Options Dialog.
By chance are you running the 64-bit version of XP?

Re: SourceGear DiffMerge 3.2 Now Available
Humph! I'm running the same version of XP and it works fine here.
From what I've been able to tell from various google searches,
it might be an interaction with other shell extensions that you
have installed or possibly a virus -- there were lots of notes
about that. Or it could be something that I did (or didn't do).
Perhaps you could collect a little information for me.
On the "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem..." dialog, click
on the "To see what data this error report contains. click here."
and tell me the "Error signature" details. there should be 5 items there.
thanks

Re: SourceGear DiffMerge 3.2 Now Available
The "pdshext.dll" tells me that the crash was in that DLL and not the DiffMerge shell extension.
A little googling shows that it is part of something called "Power Desk". (I've not used it, so I
can only repeat what I've read.)
Here's a link on TortoiseSVN's website that talks about the problem as they've seen it and a
link to the PowerDesk website with a fix.
http://tortoisesvn.net/powerdesk_crash
I found lots of other webpages that all basically said the same thing and pointed to the same
PowerDesk page.
Give this a try and see if things improve.

Hello Jeff,
I've uninstalled my version (4) of the powerdesk suite, I didn't use that tool for quite a while...
Everything seems to be working fine now.
Thanks for your support.
