Vault Client really, really slow

Post by pwab » Thu Nov 06, 2008 5:50 am

Hi,

I am running Vault Client 4.1.3 on Windows XP SP3
Dual Core Machine
Connecting to Vault Server via https

I am part of a team of devs and I am the only one experiencing this problem. When I open the client it takes anywhere up to 20 minutes to open. Checkin and checkout operations sometimes takes as much as 5 minutes. I've gone over my client settings with one of my fellow devs, all the settings seem reasonable and nothing jumps out at us.

What can I do to investigate this issue, how can I get the client to speed up a tad? I am new to Vault.

Regards,
P

Try disabling ghosted files and folders in your settings (if they are on).

Thanks for the suggestion. I disabled the ghosting of folders and files, but it has no effect on the problem. I reinstalled the client yesterday, wiped the cache and the backup folders. This did not help, the client's still as slow as ever.

Can you try enabling Vault client logging and send the log file to support at sourcegear.com ATTN: jeremy with a link to this thread. I'll need that log to find out more about what's causing the horrible slowdown.
