What happens to my Vault db's during Fortress trial upgrade?

Post by zolondek » Sun Nov 02, 2008 8:50 pm

I'm looking at trying out the trial version of Fortress. So what happens to my Vault databases when I do this? Will they stay intact in case we decide not to upgrade to Fortress?

Thanks.

It is best if you make a copy of your database to upgrade to Fortress in a different SQL instance rather than using your production database. Taking a Fortress database and returning it back to Vault is not supported. Some have done it, but we can't guarantee it to work and if something goes wrong, it might not be fixable.

Another option would be to do your Fortress testing with SQL Express. It has a limit of 4GB though, so you might not be able to use a copy of your production database with it.
