Vault to Fortress

Hi,

We're in the process of setting up a Fortress trial and we're wondering how we can use our current Vault installation to do it. Can we just do a backup/restore of sgvault to the Fortress trial db instance?

You will want to have the database in place first before installing Fortress. You can restore your Vault database backup to the SQL instance Fortress will use, or using detach/attach, copy over the database to the other SQL instance (sgvault and sgmaster if on Vault 4.x or higher). After that, install Fortress and it will find the database and upgrade it.

Trying to restore a Vault database AFTER installing with Fortress won't work. You don't want to use the Export/Import tool either in this instance.
