Eclipse plugin password not saved

Post by dhammond » Tue Aug 19, 2008 3:02 pm

It's great having Vault support in Eclipse, but there is an ongoing annoyance that really bugs me. Every time I open Eclipse, I need to put in my Vault password. Maybe that's just the way it is, but then there is the Preferences/Vault/Change Password screen, which would seem to suggest that the password should be saved. Am I missing something? Is the ability to save the password just not implemented yet, am I experiencing a bug, or am I doing something wrong? I'm using Vault 4.1.2.

Thanks,
- David

Have you created a profile in your Vault GUI client? If not, open the Vault client, but before logging in, go to Edit Profiles. Enter and save a new profile. Try that.

I actually have two profiles setup because I connect to two different Vault servers, though I only need to connect to one of the servers through Eclipse. I just tried checking "Automatically connect using this profile" for that profile, but that didn't seem to help.

We don't save the password on purpose. We haven't implemented profiles on the Eclipse plugin yet. I do have a feature request though, I'll add your vote to that.
