A Wishlist item (II)

When viewing a folder's history the resulting grid shows the data in descending version number order and in most cases this is just what's required. However, it isn't always the most appropriate order.

Unfortunately, whilst the grid allows you to click on the headers they don't sort. It would be nice if they did.

I'll log a feature request.

Note: You can choose the sort order by using the Sort tab in the History Explorer prior to running your query.

The reason that the headers don't sort (according to one of the developers a few years ago) is that this is a virtual list, and if the query results in more than a given number of rows, only some of the data is returned at the beginning. The rest of the data isn't loaded until it is needed.

Having said that, it would be nice to be able to sort a result set that has been fully retrieved, or even to change the sort order and reissue the query (this should probably prompt the user, since it could take a "long time" to redo the query).

After you get the query results, you can change one or more of the filters in the History Query under Query->Filter/Sort

That's true, but clicking once on the header is faster than bringing up the dialog, going to the sort tab, changing the proper sort, and hitting OK.

I'd completely failed to register that one.
