Hello, I have downloaded the diffmerge today and want to start using it for Word documents.
the first one I have tried has shown me this error
'file has NULL byte at offset 8; this is not valid for encoding 'Default encoding'
the file XXXX could not be imported because it contained a Null character'
Please could someone help/ explain this. i am using Word 2003 documents, containing just text.
thanks in advance
Ria

We don't support binary documents.
DiffMerge doesn't support binary documents, such as
MS Word files. (They are binary even though you only
see text when looking at the document in Word.)
DiffMerge is a tool for comparing text files, such as
source code.
Sorry,
jeff
