cannot install client

I recently downloaded a trial of the Vault. I was able to piece together the server installation and it seems to be OK. my problem is installing the client. eventhough I already have .NET compact framework 3.5 it still gives me the message

"SourceGear Vault Client cannot be installed on systems with .NET framework version smaller than 2.0"

How do I resolve this?

The compact framework is not the same as the desktop framework. You need to install the desktop framework, version 2.0 or greater.
