For traveling developers that want to work while on the plane, etc., what is the suggested method of working as part of a team in an offline mode? In other words, how does a developer successfully work offline with Vault and then check in changes upon return to Internet connectivity?

I'm assuming you are working with IDE integration? When you open a project in VS and the connection is missing, it will give you the option to work off-line. Then when you connect again later, you can check in your changes.

I think which client is being used makes a difference here. Are you using the Enhanced or Classic client?

With that client, you can just open it and it will just open it in offline mode. When you return to the office, go to File - Source Control - Work Online.

You might have to merge your files with what's in Vault if others continued checking in changes while you were offline.
