I see of no way to manually and explicitly checkout a file exclusively. There may be a file a developer wants to lock by checking out exclusively for whatever reason. I see of no way via the VS.NET integration or Vault Client in its current form to even command an exclusive checkout.
Please consider a menu option "Check-Out Exclusive" so we can, by choice, forcibly check a file out exclusively to prevent others from touching a file if we need to ensure it's isolation.

The checkout dialog has a checkbox for Request Exclusive Lock. If you don't have Checkout enabled in Command Dialogs in client options, you should be able to hold down the shift key while you evoke the checkout command to bring up the dialog.

Thanks, I obviously have silent/auto-checkout set. Would it still be a worthwhile feature to have it as part of the menu so I can right-click a file and click "Check-Out Exclusive"? I'd like to have it.
