Interop and Vault

Post by sdoc » Thu Apr 24, 2008 11:51 am

We are having an immediate issue and are unable to figure out what is doing on. We are using Vault 3.5.1

This is about forms using interop being under vault. In the example attached here is what happens

We have a .Net control called MyInteropControl
This control is added on a form in VB6 project. The project is not connected to vault. Everything works fine
If the project is connected to vault (.scc) then if you try to open the form the control fails to load.

I fail to understand what the relationship is between vault and a control being loaded on the form ,unless some background registry etc is failing.

I can send example if you send your email addr

What is going to be most useful will be to check some logs.

First, check your Vault Server Log for errors.

You also might want to set up some "Classic Client Logging." Instructions for how to do that can be found here: Client Side Logging

The client and the server log do not have anything being logged for the issue. I have emailed and example project to your support address. Can you give it a try?

after much digging around I found the answer http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic ... =vb6+addin

except note that the vb6.exe.config file should be copied to the same directory as vb6.exe (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VB98)

Thanks for posting that. Sorry that we couldn't figure that out more quickly for you, but problems with this come up pretty infrequently.
