Folks,
Let me first say that I am an extreme fan of VAULT. I honestly don't understand why MS has not purchased your comany.
That being said, I need to let you know that I think your VSIP client stinks. I find the columnar presitation unuseable. My issues can be summarized as follows:
1. Why not use a treeview control like the vs2003 compat client? in the VSIP version, the length of the path names for both local and repository items makes it necessary to use too much screen realestate to work with vault.
2. I really want the comment text box on the Pending Checking window, not as a pop-up. My normal check-in proceedure is to do a final "diff" code-review and then sumarize the changes in the comments. As I review multiple files I need to be able to refine/append the comment.
3. I really like the vs2003 compat checkbox (with it's heirarchical selection of sub-elements) for selecting which files should be processed. On a side note - I wish the vs2003 compat client would go back to the earlier behavior of -- once an item is unchecked it stays unchecked across check-ins. Now, if you de-select items and then do a check-in, all remaining items are reselected upon completion of the check-in.
Please spend some time on the VSIP client and bring its user interface experience upto the vs2003 compat level.
Best regards,
Metro Sauper.
