Broken Repository?

Post by jpearson » Fri Apr 11, 2008 2:06 pm

Hi,
I am using vault version 4.0.6. We are having some problems with one of our repositories, but not in any others I am aware of. I have a solution that is bound to VS.NET 2005 and it is in the integrated mode. If I edit a file in VS it's icon on the solution explored changes from a lock to a check. On another users computer, in visual studio everything seems ok, I can see the check out on the first computer.

The problem is in the Vault Client desktop app. Instead of the file showing as checked out and saying by who the file is marked as renegade. This seems to happen to all the files in the repository. As I said above it does not happen to any other repositories. Any ideas?

I would be happy to upgrade to 4.1 if you think that will help out.

thanks, Jake

Does the status change when you refresh the file list in the GUI Client?

No, refreshing leaves everything as renegade.

I'd suggest upgrading. There's no cost if you're already on 4.x. To upgrade, just run the 4.1 installer over the current installation.

While it may not resolve the problem, it will be easier to troubleshoot using the latest version of Vault.
