Demo License expires when??

Post by kevinhanson » Tue Apr 01, 2008 9:42 am

Our evaluation of Vault started telling us that our demo license would "expire within 5 days". However, it started telling us that last Friday. That was 4 days ago, and it still says "within 5 days."

How am I supposed to know when it is actually going to expire, short of suddenly not being able to login? I made a request last Friday for more evaluation time, but have not heard back from the sales team on that.

Am I going to lose access to our Vault tomorrow, or is Vault going to tell me I have "5 days" indefinitely?

You can check the expiration date in the Licenses link in the Vault Admin web client.

I'll follow up with Sales regarding your demo extension. Meanwhile, here's demo serial number for Vault 4.x good for about 3 weeks:

Thanks Linda.

I'm curious, can I run the Admin Web Client from any machine, or do I have to be on the actual server?

I don't have direct login access to our server right now, which is why I ask.

Thanks.

Since the admin web client is browser-based, you can run it from any machine.

I thought as much. Maybe I'm just not getting the URL right.

I even get an IE error page when I try

Code: Select all

http://[IP Address]/VaultServices/VaultServices.asmx

Try http://[IP Address]/VaultService/VaultService.asmx

It's "VaultService" rather than "VaultServices."

ack. I knew that. me r smart.

Actually, I tried that too and still get the "cannot display the webpage" message from IE.

Not a big issue though, as we had someoelse with direct access to the server, so we're good.

Thanks.
