Annoying Check in Vault Web Client

Post by JimG » Thu Mar 27, 2008 11:58 am

Just an FYI on a bug:

In the Vault Web Client (Version 4.1.0.16216)...

When updating a Login ID of a User, the client is requiring a password change even though we're using Active Directory to authenticate. This doesn't happen when adding a new user.

Updating a Login ID shouldn't require a password change when we're validating against an active directory.

There are two workarounds:
1. Add a fictitious password.
2. After the error shows, change the AD selection to "Don't use AD to Authenticate" then change it right back to the original setting. Saves just fine after that without a password change.

I'll get this logged and looked into.

Why are you changing the login IDs though?

The resolution to the second issue in the thread below caused me to change the Login ID to all lowercase. We determined that when logging into Vault via Dreamweaver, the IDs are case-sensitive. This is the only application we have that the Login ID is case sensitive, and since we all just enter our IDs in lowercase, I changed Vault to match what the users enter.

Ok, that makes sense then. I was concerned that maybe this was a regular thing.
