Migrating Vault to new server and SQL version...

We are going to be moving our Vault server from one machine to another and also moving to an upgraded version of SQL Server (from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005). Can anyone recommend an approach for best achieving this? Our Vault version is: 3.1.7.3719.

Make a backup of your Vault database. Restore it to SQL Server on the new machine. (You can restore a SQL SErver 2000 database to SQL Server 2005.

Then install Vault, pointing it to the database location.
