False checkouts

Post by stuartmaue » Tue Feb 26, 2008 11:21 am

Hello,

A few days ago I downloaded the 4.1 upgrades and we upgraded our previous server and client installs. All seemed succesful. Today I did a search for files I have checked out to me and I noticed there were some checked out that I have not worked on in some time. I tried to do an undo checkout but I received the following message;

A database error has occured (FailDBFault)

I then went in to the Vault admin and looked at the said item and it was not checked out to me in there. Is this a caching issue of some kind? It is critical that I find a resolution as this is affecting all developers.

Thanks.

This is a cache issue. Deleting CacheMember_CheckOutList from the client side cache on any affected machines should resolve the problem.

Hello Ian,

Still there. I think I have deleted everything I can and these two files still show as checked out. Another user has informed me that they too show the same files as checked out.

Thanks

Were all Vault clients closed when you deleted the cache files? Can you double-check the administrative web interface to ensure they're not listed there?

Yep, everything was closed. I knew what you were talking about because it writes on exit so I was extra careful. I also opened the web admin interface and it still shows as checked in.

You're looking at the undo checkout section of the admin interface? And the correct repository? The only places the checkout data would be is here and in the client-side cache.

Nope did not see that in the list. After looking at the image I went in there and looked and there they were. It looks as though that has taken care of the problem.

Thanks
