Can't seem to get Vault installed for single user operation

Post by Noble D. Bell » Wed Nov 21, 2007 4:34 pm

Hello all,

I have Windows Vista Home Premium installed and I want to install the single user free license of Vault. I went into my Vista Programs section and made sure that I had IIS running (I have IIS 7). When I try to install the server component I get the message box telling me that I need to have IIS 5 or greater installed and running in order to continue. The installer then exits.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks & God bless,
Noble

For 32-bit Vista, you'll need to do some configuration. See Installing Vault on Windows Vista for more information. Note, these instructions apply to Vault 3.5.2 and higher.

So, if I am reading the post correctly, I cannot install Vault Server on my machine since I am running Windows Vista Home Premium. Is this correct?
Thanks & God bless,

The Vault Server requires IIS and ASP.NET as part of its framework. According to the documentation from Microsoft, Vista Home Premium does not come with IIS.

I can say I've never tried it out (and just blindly followed MS's documentation). But if Vista Home Premium does include IIS and capable of running ASP.NET web services, then Vault server should work.

Still not working

Hi,

I've followed the instructions linked above and still can't get the installer running on my Vista Enterprise 32 bit machine with IIS and ASP.Net running with SQL Server Express.

Anything else I can try?

Regards,

Roland Rodriguez
