When I do a Get Latest I don't like not knowing what new files are coming down. Is there a way to have a step after get latest that shows me what the new/more recent files are so I can do a diff on them prior to doing a merge/overwrite? It just seems like too much of an unknown right now and I want to see what is going to happen before it does.

You want some sort of preview, prior to doing a Get latest?
I can log this as a feature request.
In the meantime, a workaround might be to use Vault GUI Client to see files with the status of Old. Or you can view Folder History by Version on the folder in Vault Client and diff the latest version against the working folder version.

One of my colleagues pointed out that if you have Command Dialogs enabled you can evoke the Get Latest dialog in VS 2005 and choose Overwrite or Automatic Merge and Prompt for modified files in the Get dialog. The prompt will alert you that the file has been modified and give you the option to Diff. You can also choose to not overwrite that local file. If you do the Get at the project level, it will prompt you for each file.

Thanks, I did try to check Prompt but it didn't do anything due to the fact auto-merge was the option.
But yes, my feature request is when calling Get Latest from the Vault 2005 client I would like to see a dialog exactly like the Check-In dialog where I can do a Diff on the selected file. This will allow me to see what's changed, what's coming down, what the changes are and whether or not I want to in fact accept this latest version. Right now I'm totally in the blind, unless I use the Vault GUI client, to what's coming down changed by other devs.
