Looking for Changes in working folders.....Feature Request

I have a several network folders with 3000+ templates, which are under source control. Having the automatic searching for file changes has a huge impact on how fast the GUI responds. I wish I could break the folders into several smaller folders but it is impossible at this time.

Can a feature be added so there would be a way to turn off the automatic looking of updated files in the standalone client, and provide a button to search for changes once pressed?

You could turn off the Autorefresh if you'd like. That's in Tools - Options - General. Then it would only refresh when you select Refresh. Is that what you are looking for, or something else?

After working with the autofresh turned off. It did resolve most of the issues I was running into with Fortress Standalone client taking a great deal of time & CPU to fresh its display.

Every time I do a Compare & Checkin, it seems to trigger the refreshing of the file folders, I often have to touch a lot of files. I verify the changes I made before checking them in, and it takes a long time to verify 10 files when I have to wait for the Fortress Client to become responsive again after comparing each file.

What I think will particularly help you is changing the setting for treemanagersize from -1 to 100. Also, compare how your system and settings are compared to that article.
