Vault using wrong domain name

Post by kenoyer130 » Fri Jul 27, 2007 8:04 am

After uninstalling and reinstalling Vault, it is trying to use the url http://<machinename> instead of the actual URL I need to use. How do I change this setting?

What URL do you want it to use, if not the name of the machine that it's installed on?

The machine name is a hosted solution, and thus makes no sense. The URL we want to use is our website on the machine. This was working before the reinstall.

What happens when you type the URL that you want it to use? If it's hosted, and the hosting company maps your URL properly to the VaultService site, it should still work.

For the sake of argument, the machine name is DDEE34 hosting the websites.

The actual URL we want to use is http://www.myurl.com.

If you go to http://www.myurl.com/vaultservice/ it shows the page, but all the urls on that page have http://DDEE34 instead of www.myurl.com.

Again, this worked fine until the reinstall, and all I want to do is tell Sourcegear to use the http://www.myurl.com instead of DDEE34.

You can edit index.html and change the links to match how you want them to appear.

There is also a section in the Admin Tool, under the Email Settings option, to specify a Server URL. You may want to update that.

The problem is I can't even log into the admin or client tools. Both say the mywebsite.com URL can not be found. Yet if I go to the url I can see the web service page, but the links show the machine name instead of the correct url. Help!

Can you use the admin/client tools if you use http://<machinename>/vaultservice ?

I can not log in with either the client or admin tool.

I can browse to http://<machinename>/vaultservice but none of the links on the page work.
