Still "Unable to Connect" Error After Server Re-in

Post by robertchin » Mon May 10, 2004 8:02 am

My original posting was titled:
"Error message: "The server was unable to connect"

Just re-installed Server 4.0.1 (was 4.0 before, SOS Client is STILL 4.0)
Client user still gets same error message.
Pls help ASAP, thanks

Robert,

We just spoke by phone in regarding running the Server Service as an account in the Windows Domain instead of the local system account.

However, if you're still getting the COM registration problem in the log file, then the COM component is still not registered correctly. In your original post regarding that problem, the last reply I gave said to reinstall SourceSafe on that machine, NOT SourceOffSite. SourceSafe must be reinstalled before the SourceSafe COM component will be registered correctly.
