Hi, I am currently a Vault 3.5.1 user, and would like to try out Fortress, but wanted to confirm a few things before installing the demo.
It seems that I am going to have to let Fortress upgrade my existing Vault database, at which point it won't be usable by existing clients who won't be trying Fortress. Since I am just trying it for now, I was wondering if there was a way to get the Fortress demo to run off of a new, fresh database rather than using the existing Vault one. Is this possible?
If not, would I need to upgrade my existing Vault from 3.5.1 to 4.0.x and let that update the database before installing Fortress?
Question about trying the demo

Will you be using the same SQL server? It shouldn't work on the same instance of SQL server.
The easiest way to try this out is to either have a separate SQL server (or SQL Express). You can then allow Fortress to create its own database. Another option would be to take a backup of your Vault database and restore it to a different SQL server and install Fortress on that. Then you'd be able to see if there are any issues with your current database and can get that taken care of before the switch to Fortress.
