Export from 3.5/Import to 4.0.1

I have two Vault installations. One is at version 3.5.0, the other is a new installation at 4.0.1.

I have to move a project from the 3.5 installation to a repository in the 4.0 installation. Has anyone tried this before? If so, any problems or preparation tips I could use? Thanks in advance.

The only difficulty was that the target installation had require comments enabled.

Just unchecking this option and saving the changes is not enough. You have to reset IIS afterward, even though it looks like the settings were applied.

I tried this on a small folder in Vault 3.5, imported it into Vault 4.0.1 and it appeared to work. A caveat, though -- we haven't tested this at all so there may be cases where the data isn't imported properly.
