FailProjectPermissionDenied Error

Post by cs » Mon Jun 04, 2007 11:09 am

When trying to Query or Add to a project, when logged on as a regular user, the error below appears:

FailProjectPermissionDenied - The user does not have permission to perform that operation on the project. The user must be assigned permission. The operation has been cancelled.

Note: the logged on user is a member of a group which has full administrative rights on the project.

The same user could Query/Add, etc. without problems in Dragnet.

The Admin user can Query/Add.

This is in Fortress 1.0

Do the user's effective rights make sense when you click on Admin->Users->Overview link in the users grid? A direct setting on a user will override an admin setting.

In Server Settings>Users>MyUser Overview, the User Rights colum says Full Admin

There was a problem merging the Vault and Dragnet users that was causing one specific user at this site to have a problem. This will be corrected in Fortress 1.0.1.

Jeremy,

when can we expect the 1.01 release?

to add to the issue, I'm also getting blank error boxes when trying to add tasks via visual studio.

1. i right click on the project from the Fortress explorer and select Add
2. An empty error box pops up, i select ok
3. The add form opens and i enter some data
4. upon clicking submit, i receive another error box and visual studio crashes.

now, I'm only assuming that this issue is related to the permission error because i receive the same error as 'cs' when attempting to add from the web interface.

I also logged the visual studio session if you would like me to send that over.

We don't have a set timetable, but you can expect it very soon. I already have you're email address, so I can send you a temp build which fixes this issue until 1.0.1 is released.

I'm having this exact same problem.

I'm using the 30-day trial of Fortress. The admin user can query and add to an item tracking project. A user that comes from an upgraded Vault 3.1.5 database cannot, whether it has Full Admin or Modify rights to the item tracking project. Is there any way I can fix this, so I can evaluate the product?
