fortress web interface questions and issues

I've noticed a few things over the past couple of days with the web interface that may or may not be issues.

1. When users login, including myself, the default start page is set to the SourceCode Control tab. How can i modify that to start on the Item Tracking tab? The user preferences was the only place i could find similar options but have had no luck.

2. For some reason, in order to see the email preference link, you have to click the main (top nav) preferences link twice. For example, i login and click preferences, the only two right nav tabs i see are Display and Password. I then click preferences (top nav) again, and the Email link becomes visible. Nothing more than a minor inconvenience once discovered, but i just wanted to mention it.

1. The initial page reacts to the URL that was used to enter the site. Traffic going to http://server/Fortress is redirected to the Login, and the bounced back to Item Tracking. Traffic going to http://server/VaultService/VaultWeb will be redirected to Source Control.

2. You've actually pointed out a bug. Neither the first click on preferences nor the second clicks on Preferences should enable Email. Email should only be enabled for users who are currently "in" a project (query, add, results, edit, etc), since the email preference clearly mentions a "current" project, where you're setting the email preferences (only mail my bugs, or all bugs in the project).

Of course, there are global settings in the email preferences, and a very strong argument could be made that the global options should be editable from the "global" (not in a project) preferences page.

I will log both the bug and the feature request. Thanks.

for the first item...I'm actually navigating to /fortress which then redirects me to the /VaultService/VaultWeb/Login.aspx page... and after login, I'm being redirected to the SourceControl tab ... and as far as i can tell, its the same for all of the users, which has created some confusion.

for the second...that makes sense to me now. It also makes sense to me to have it globally available as well, so hopefully that feature will be implemented.

Do you mind posting what the URL looks like when you're on the VaultWeb Login page?

not at all.... here is the complete login redirect url after typing in http://vault//fortress

http://vault/VaultService/VaultWeb/Logi ... fault.aspx

but I'd like to revise the issue. I am properly directed to the item tracking start page when freshly navigating to the site via the first link. however, when i click logoff, then log back in, I'm navigated to the source control tab. The other users i mentioned with the same issue are accessing the fortress site via the link in the notification emails.

I still have the issue with the latest version.
Clicking log out takes you to HTTP:/...../VaultService and then another login takes you to source repositories, not fortress items.
