Help in the form of some procedural documentation would be ideal if there's anything about. Here's the situation:
Server 1 runs web and database. Server 1 is to be decommissioned necessitating the movement of both web and database. Web to server 2. database to server3.
Server 2 has web front and a local empty database.
Server 3 has sql running.
Question 1 - to detach and remove the database : take a backup of db on 1 and copy mdf and log files from 1 to reciprocal location on server 3. reattach db on 3?
Question 2 - how do I point an installed web front end at another database? Is there a config file etc than needs to be changed or not?
Question 3 - if both the above have been carried out. Are the user rights carried over aswell. Therefore, after completing movement of db and repointing of web then everything is complete and as was originally, just in a different location?
Any ideas would help my help immensely
Thanks
Repointing web server to database on a different box

i just cleaned up some knowledge base articles:
1) move the database as stated in http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=924. you can skip steps B & C if you like.
2) installing the vault server on the new machine would be the easiest route - see http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=228. one quick modification to the instructions - instead of moving the database to the same vault server, substitute the sql server during the installation.
