Database upgrade failure from 3.1.7.3719 to 3.5.2.5087

Post by slafave » Wed Apr 25, 2007 9:59 am

Received the attached error when attempting to upgrade our 3.1.7.3719 Vault installation to 3.5.2.5087.

We did not receive this error when doing a test upgrade to 3.5.1 last week, so it seems to be something that changed between 3.5.1 and 3.5.2.

When had you downloaded 3.5.2? Had you made a back-up of your 3.1.7 database before upgrading?

There were changes between 3.5.1 and 3.5.2.

Yes, so we are back up and running on 3.1.7 with no ill-effects, aside from disappointment. We were very excited about moving to 3.5.2, particularly with the potential performance gains, and VS 2005 enhancements.

I guess that will teach me to assume a successful test conversion on one point release does not guarantee success on a subsequent production conversion with the very next point release. :)

Can you send an email to support at sourcegear.com (attn: Beth) with a link to this forum thread, and we can start digging deeper into what was going on with your database?
