File dates changed after branching

Post by Zenda » Fri Feb 09, 2007 9:23 am

Is there any way to keep the original file dates when when branching a folder of files? I don't see the reason why their dates should be modified on the new branch, or at least this should be optional.

No, but we have a feature request logged for this.
When a branch occurs, the current time is used for the modification time. Users have asked that the source's "modification" time be used for the modification time of the newly created branch.
Is this the behavior you want? If so I'll add your "vote." If not, give me details of the behavior you'd like to see.

yes, please add my vote to retain the file dates when they are branched. It would be nice if it is optional (default to retaining their dates).

Thanks.

I too agree -- please leave file dates unchanged by default when doing a branch.
