Vault integration with Microsoft Office suite

Hi all,

First of all I like to complement SourceGear on the excellent products!! We migrate from VSS to Vault, and we love it!!!!

Ok, let's get to the point; I have a question which some of you may find stupid, but I'm asking it anyway.

Before implementing a DMS (i.e. sharepoint) my co-workers and I want to work with Vault to store our documents (doc, xls, pdf and stuff). Can we make a integration with the Office products? So we can use the check in and check out from out of Office? This is possible when using Sharepoint...

Glad you like Vault.

Vault does not support integration with Microsoft Office -- only with Visual Studio. However, you can certainly store your documents in Vault, using the Vault GUI Client for source control operations.

BTW -- Vault and Sharepoint don't always play well together. See these instructions for installing Vault on the same machine as Sharepoint:
