Exceptions during branch Vault 3.1.9.3798

Post by Jim » Tue Jan 16, 2007 2:47 am

We have an issue where we get an exception during a branch operation.

The error is readily reproduceable on our main server, however we have a separate DR server for testing upgrades and the like and the branch succeeds on this separate server (which we keep in synch using the night befores backups).

The client side exception is:
An exception was encountered during the transaction. Exception: 1 : Failure...
And the server side exception is:
Critical Error! Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I have attached both logs (client and server side) to give the full context of the error, although I have chopped out any work from other users in the server log to keep it clean.

Any help much appreciated.

Try restarting IIS (iisreset) just before you do the branch. Does that make a difference?

Linda

Thanks for this, but this is quite consistant and has survived resets, reboots and also an upgrade of vault to our current 3.1.9.3798 version.

We were intending to upgrade to 3.5 but that is quite a major undertaking for us so were hoping that we could resolve this issue and deal with the 3.5 upgrade separately

Would you have any other suggestions for us?

Thanks very much
Jim

We may need to dig a little deeper on this. Can you send an email to support at sourcegear.com on this issue and just reference this forum thread?
